SMALL and medium sized firms working in and providing services to the construction sector have the chance to bid for work on hundreds of family homes in Darlington.

Darlington Borough Council, which has appointed Keepmoat to build more than 330 new family homes at the Central Park development in the town, is hosting a meet the buyer event later this month.

The event, in partnership with Keepmoat, aims to provide local construction firms and suppliers with the opportunity to find out about the potential sub-contract and supply opportunities arising from the development.

It is suitable for a wide range of related trades such as roof tiling, decorating, electrical, plumbing, plastering, windows, wall tiling, loft insulation, mastic, scaffolding, cleaning, fencing, landscaping, groundworks, brickwork, joinery and rendering.

The breakfast event is being held at Teesside University's Darlington campus, in Vicarage Road, and starts at 7.45am on Tuesday, September 24.

Keepmoat will provide an overview of the scheme and the available work packages, including application criteria and timescales, and its team will answer questions after the event.
