Former church to host band night in Sacriston
2:56pm Tuesday 27th August 2013 in News
A COMMUNITY venue in an old church will stage a night of North-East talent.
The Old Church, formerly St Peter’s Church in Front Street, Sacriston, was converted by Paul and (CORR) Janiece Spence after standing empty for many years.
On September 6 the venue will stage a night of music featuring folk-punk band Driven Serious, James Allan and Co, The Gentleman Busker and singer Paige Temperley.
Rob Jones, of Driven Serious, said: “We'll be making full use of the space with full- on sound and lighting. To my knowledge, it has been a long time since anything like this has happened in Sacriston. This is the debut gig at a magnificent and unique new venue.”
The gig, which starts at 7.30pm, is open to over-16s only. Tickets cost £5 from the website www.wegottickets.com/event/229836
