Annfield Plain ladies' group reverts to traditional Wednesday meeting night
A WOMEN’S community group which gathers on a fortnightly basis is changing its chosen meeting night.
The decision to revert back to its traditional Wednesday night meetings comes only months after Greencroft Ladies Club switched venue from its original home.
Group members met for the previous 45 years at the community centre in Greencroft, near Stanley, County Durham, every other week on a Wednesday.
But, fearing potential closure, the group transferred venues to Annfield Plain Methodist Church, earlier this year, changing its meeting night to a Thursday.
Group members are advised that from next month it will revert to a Wednesday meeting, at 7pm, from September 11, with the last Thursday meeting this week, on August 29, also 7pm.
Members and the wider community are advised that the planned meeting for October 23 will feature a special performing appearance by the Leadgate Gleemen vocal group, with further details to follow nearer the time.
