Music festival in Stanley entertains crowds
A MUSIC festival in the North-East featuring chart toppers Dodgy has attracted up to 2,000 fans.
Other performers who entertasined crowds were Tony Affleck, Leesa Mae, The Mitch Laddie Band, Cryptic Metaphor, Dust Town Dogs as well as a Thin White Duke tribute, Ultimate Bowie.
Organiser Carl Marshall said: “It went really, really well. There was nice weather and the band selection went down really well with the public.
“It was a great family day out. There were no arrests and police said they were really happy with it.
“People stayed for the full day and the feedback has been really positive.”
The event received £15,000 funding from Stanley Town council, £5,000 from Stanley Area Action Partnership, £6,500 from the area’s Durham County Councillors and £7,000 from Stanley Events.
