AN orchestra made up of blind and partially-sighted musicians from around the world will be among the highlights at an annual festival of Indian culture.

The Inner Vision Orchestra are to perform at the 20th annual Ganesh Festival, to be held in Stanley on Sunday, September 15.

Musicians will perform songs from Iran, Lebanon, Afghanistan, India and Nigeria, as well as classical western compositions and gospel and blues pieces.

The festival, staged by Kalapremi UK to celebrate the birth of the Hindu elephant-headed god Lord Ganesh, will also include traditional Indian dance and devotional songs.

The event takes place at the Lamplight Arts Centre, in Front Street, Stanley from 10.30am to 5pm and admission is £12 or £9 for children and OAPs, free for the under fives.
