Duncan Bannatyne on dragon's diet thanks to new co-star

ENTREPRENEUR Duncan Bannatyne has revealed his new Dragons’ Den co-star has helped him improve his heath after putting him on a special diet.
The 64-year-old Scottish businessman was rushed to Darlington Memorial Hospital last year suffering from chest pains during a gym session but later denied reports of a heart attack.
Now the Darlington-based tycoon has revealed he has lost weight after taking advice from his new Dragons’ Den co-star, interior designer Kelly Hoppen, who has joined the show’s panel for its 11th series.
The entrepreneur – who started out as an ice cream van man and now owns a chain of hotels and fitness centres, with its head office in Darlington – said he learned a lot sitting next to his new colleague.
He said: ''She's phenomenal on nutrition. I noticed she was getting her food sent from the hotel - it would be food with steamed vegetables.
''I said 'I want what you're getting'. So she orders my food for me every day now, and I'm a lot slimmer. So that's great.''
The new series of Dragons’ Den begins on BBC2 tonight (Sunday, August 11) at 8pm.
