Two men charged following Scarborough murder investigation
DETECTIVES investigating the death of a man in his thirties in a North Yorkshire holiday resort have charged two men with murder.
The investigation into the death of a man at Eastborough, Scarborough, on Wednesday, August 7 has now led to two people, aged 34 and 29 to be charged.
Police have also now named the victim as 41-year-old local man Jonathan Binns.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics responded to an incident at an address at about 11.40pm.
The two men arrested have also been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, along with two others, both aged 30.
One of them also faces a charge of assisting an offender.
All four men have been remanded in police custody and will appear at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 12.
Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “I am very grateful to the public for their response to our witness appeals and for the patience and understanding they have shown while forensic examinations and searches have been ongoing over the weekend.”
