A POPULAR woman enjoyed a day in the spotlight at party to mark her 100th birthday.
Edith Jones, who is originally from Guisborough, celebrated the milestone at Cross Hill Nursing Home, Stanhope, with family, friends and staff on Wednesday, July 10.
The former custodian of Gisborough (CORR) Priory received a card from the Queen and the home was decorated in balloons and banners.
She was a big fan of gardening and is keen to challenge anyone to a game of dominoes.
Her daughter Barbara Turnbull said: βIt was a wonderful day, a big celebration. She loved being centre of attention.β
