I’ve enjoyed a number of Mats Eilertsen’s recent CDs and this is another little gem.
It’s the same line-up as on Elegy, with Eilertsen on double bass, Harmen Fraanje on piano (and occasionally voice) and Thomas Stronen, drums. The three are particularly well-matched on a programme of 11 improvised pieces, some rather brief, but all sounding rounded and complete.
