RESIDENTS in a Teesdale village are being urged to turn out in force to take part in a Big Spring Clean.

Householders in Bolam are joining in the LitterFree Durham campaign to clean up the county.

Organisers say litter is proving to be an ever greater problem in the village and are asking people to join in the celan up on Saturday, May 11, between 2pm and 4pm.

Anyone willing to take part should meet at The Countryman pub car park. High viz jackets and picking equipment will be supplied, but volunteers should wear golves and bring a black bin liner with them.

All rubbish collected will be removed afterwards.

LitterFree Durham is a voluntary group within the County Durham branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England supported by Durham County Council and Darlington Borough Council.
