A LEYBURN bakery producing gluten, wheat and dairy-free cakes, savouries and bread will be exhibiting at the first Great North Gluten Free Fair.
The Gluten Free Kitchen founded in 2005 by David and Sue Fleming in Aysgarth, even provides baked goods for Buckingham Palace, after setting up the business to meet the need for tasty gluten-free food.
The Gluten Free Kitchen has also joined Tasteclub, the club for everyone who makes, serves and sells great north food and drink, and confirmed its attendance at the Great North Gluten Free Fair on Saturday, April 27.
And having recently secured its first North East distributor, the business is set to increase its number of stockists, which already include Waitrose and Booths stores.
Mr Fleming said: “We recently became members of Tasteclub as a result of attending their Meet and Eat networking event – we found it really valuable to connect with this community of local food and drink businesses.
The Gluten Free Kitchen will be sampling its top selling savoury range of products including its ovencrust chicken and bacon pie, which won national acclaim at the 2012 FreeFrom Food Awards.
Entry to the Great North Gluten Free Fair, which will run from 10am to 4pm at the CastleGate in Newcastle city centre, costs £2 for adults and is free for children.
All attendees will receive a free muffin from Newburn Bakehouse by Warburtons.
Tickets are now on sale at http://tasteclubhq.com/products/great-north-gluten-free-fair.
