BACK TO THE SIXTIES: Members of Durham University Light Opera Group rehearse Hair
STUDENTS in the North-East are preparing to relive the hippie dream with their latest stage show.
Durham University Light Opera Group is performing Hair at the Assembly Rooms in Durham from March 12-15.
The live show features a long list of chart-topping hit songs, including Aquarius, Let the Sun Shine In, Good Morning, Starshine and Easy To Be Hard.
DULOG PR secretary Simon Lynch said: “This Broadway musical live on stage is at once both a joyous celebration of youth and a poignant journey through a tumultuous 1960s America.
“This exuberant musical about a group of teenagers searching for truth, peace and love in a Vietnam War era America has struck a resonant chord with audiences of all ages.
“The themes and struggles in Hair, although from another era, seem vital and relevant to the times we live in today in more ways than you realize until you experience the show first hand.”
Tickets cost £5 to £6.50 and can be booked by logging on to www.dulog.org.uk/
