RAIL passengers travelling between York and London were delayed following an accident at a level crossing on the East Coast Mainline.
The crash at the crossing near Doncaster led to East Coast and Grand Central Trains services being delayed by up to 75 minutes. It also meant hold-ups for Northern Rail trains between Doncaster and Selby and for passengers using services run by other operators.
A spokesman said: "The road accident at Arksey level crossing near Doncaster has been cleared and trains are running normally through that area.
"Passengers should expect some residual delays to East Coast and some Cross Country trains which run via Doncaster for the next 90 minutes, as congestion around the Doncaster area clears."
