Dr Hook's Dennis Locorriere to play Darlington Civic Theatre

A VOCALIST described as one of the last great American heroes is performing in the region next month.

Dennis Locorriere, the lead singer of 1970s and 80s group Dr Hook, will appear at Darlington Civic Theatre on Saturday, April 6, as part of his Point Zero tour.

Dr Hook amassed more than 60 gold and platinum records, scoring number one hits in more than 40 countries.

Locorriere sang on every major hit the band had and was the only member to appear on every Dr Hook recording.

He has also written for other artists including Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John and Willie Nelson.

I didn't hear him on Freakin at the Freaker's Ball, or True Love. I think that was Shel Silverstein. Dennis is from the more PC version of Dr Hook.
