AN AFTERNOON of art and poetry celebrating the achievements of women will take place next weekend (March 9).
The Celebrating the Feminine event is part of this year’s International Women’s Day programme and will be held at Durham University on Saturday, March 9.
There will be a lecture on poet Anne Stevenson, followed by a reading by the poet herself.
Later, there will be an opening preview of an art exhibition featuring work by Miranda Petersen, Sarah Kernaghan, Sharon Gollan, Nene Stam, Ruth Gowland and others.
The event, at Van Mildert College, Mill Hill Lane, Durham, will run from 1pm to 4pm. Entry is free.
