TWO people have been arrested in an investigation into the murder of a 32-year-old man in a seaside town.
North Yorkshire Police made the arrests following the death of the man in Whitby on Friday night (February 22).
They were called to what they have described as a domestic disturbance by an ambulance crew at 11.25pm. The paramedics were responding to a report that a man had suffered serious chest injuries.
Officers arriving at the property in Spring Hill Court found the man at the scene being treated by paramedics for his injuries, but he was pronounced dead by ambulance staff a short time later.
The scene of the incident, on a residential street not far from the town’s train station was being guarded by police.
The road was closed until 12.20pm on Saturday while officers carried out detailed searches in and around the property.
Police arrested a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, who are currently in police custody for questioning. The identity of the dead man has not yet been released.
Police would like to hear from anyone with information they feel may be of use to the murder enquiry.
