POLICE are appealing for information after a spate of air rifle incidents in Bishop Auckland.
Over the past few weeks members of the Bishop Auckland neighbourhood policing team have received reports of windows being shattered and a dog being shot in the Prince’s Street area of the town.
On February 21 a bathroom window on Vickers Street was smashed by a pellet believed to have been fired from an air rifle.
PC Alex Riley said he believed the shooter had been at the rear of the property in the alleyway behind Prince’s Street.
There have also been reports made in nearby Gibbon Street.
PC Riley said: “Anyone with information on these incidents or the person who is using the air rifle can contact me on 101.”
