AN annual charity walk has received a transformation after organisers changed the venue for their three mile route.
The Twilight Walk, in aid of Butterwick Hospice, is now open to men, women and children and takes participants through the Raby Castle estate, in Staindrop, Teesdale.
The sponsored event allows people to enjoy an evening of outdoor fun and take in the beautiful countryside views.
In previous years the walk has started and finished from Bishop Auckland College, although last year it had to be moved elsewhere in the down due to bad weather.
Event organiser Julie Nisbet said “The walk was becoming more popular with a greater demand, and we felt the time was right to open the walk to everybody.
“Lord Barnard very kindly agreed to host our event at Raby Castle, and the response from the public so far has been phenomenal.
“We still have groups of friends taking part, but now men and families can also join in.”
The Twilight Walk takes place on Saturday, June 15, at 6pm. Entry costs £15 per adult, £10 per child with under-fives free and a family concession is available.
