SOME extra special guests slithered into view during a family fun day at The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle.
Several species of snake, along with other furry friends from Jay's Animal Encounters enthralled visitors young and old.
The fun day was organised to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Snake and is part of a series of events which are taking place at the museum during the school half term holidays.
Tomorrow (February 20), there is a Beautiful Landscapes workshop, while crafts events on Thursday and Friday will give youngsters the chance to make personalised Chinese bookmarks, a lucky envelope and a Chinese dragon.
