HUNDREDS of youngsters from schools across Darlington took part in the Schools Dance Fesitval, at Darlington Civic Theatre, on Tuesday (February 12). About 400 youngsters, boys and girls aged six to 16, took part. There was a dress rehearsal from noon to 3pm, with the main performance from 6pm to 9pm.

PAVILION PLAN: Rockliffe Park Cricket club has submitted plans for a new pavilion to Darlington Borough Council. It was revealed last month that the club, in the grounds of Rockliffe Park Hotel, was receiving funding of more than £49,000 towards the project, from Sport England. The planning application will be considered later this year.

LOCO MEMORIES: Darlington librarians are keen to hear from anyone with memories of the old North Road Locomotive Works. This month marks the 150th anniversary of the site’s opening. Anyone with photographs or memories to share is asked to call the Centre for Local Studies, on 01325-349630.
