BODY FOUND: A North Yorkshire school was closed today (Monday, January 11) after the body of a man in his fifties was discovered on the premises.
Police were called to Airy Hill Community Primary School in Whitby at 8.10am after the report of a sudden death. Paramedics had been called to the school but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said:“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and no-one else is being sought in connection with the incident. We are not yet in a position to release any further details.”
Following the discovery, the school was immediately closed, parents have been told the school will be closed until Wednesday.
