Ten arrested over firearms incidents in Hartlepool, South Bank, Grangetown and Brambles Farm areas
TEN people were arrested by Cleveland Police over firearms-related incidents yesterday (Friday, February 8) as part of an on-going investigation.
As a result a 39-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, conspiracy to possess a prohibited weapon and conspiracy to possess prohibited ammunition.
Three other men aged 39, 36 and 32 were charged with conspiracy to possess a prohibited weapon and conspiracy to possess prohibited ammunition and a 41-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.
A 29-year-old woman has been charged and bailed with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.
Two other women aged 31 and 33, and two males aged 31 and 22 were bailed pending further enquiries.
Temporary Detective Inspector Paul Gordon said: “This is a culmination of over six months work and I hope it sends a message to those who involve themselves in such offences that they will find themselves brought to justice.
“We aim to keep the streets of Cleveland free from the threat of any type of serious crime and ensure the people of Cleveland can go about their daily lives in a safe environment.”
