Appeal over missing Bishop Auckland pensioner

Police are growing increasingly concerned for the safety of a 65-year-old man last seen yesterday (Friday, February 8) lunchtime in Bishop Auckland town centre.

Wilfred Ainsley-Weighell has failed to return to his home at Etherley Lodge, Bishop Auckland.

He is known to visit local betting shops, pubs and use public transport.

Mr Ainsley-Weighell is described as white, with a pale complexion and blue eyes.

He is 5ft 10ins tall with a North-East accent and was last seen wearing a brown leather jacket, blue jeans, a brown flat cap and brown checked scarf with white trainers. He also wears glasses.

Anyone with information is urged to call Durham Police on 101 quoting log number DHM08022013/0159.

i know "Wilfy" he is a regular in Hogans in Bishop Auckland, i recall that last year he disappeared for a few days after having a bit luck on the horses. He told me that he went to Scarborough for a break so he may be down that way..especially if he has won again. I believe he uses Bef Fred bookies over the road from the pub
