A CAR left the road and collided with a fence outside a County Durham School this evening (Wednesday, February 6).

The incident happened at Great Lumley, with the vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf estate, coming to rest in the grounds of Lumley Junior School.

A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said two vehicles were involved in the accident at 6.30pm.

Whilst delighted that no one was injured - the unanswered question is: can the fence be repaired or will it need to be replaced.
