Seaham v Shildon match abandoned following spectator's death

A match between Seaham Red Star and Shildon AFC was abandoned tonight after a spectator collapsed and later died.
The Durham Challenge Cup game, which kicked off at 7.30pm, was initially halted to allow an ambulance onto the Seaham Park pitch but was abandoned after 15 minutes.
