THE A19 Southbound has reopened after a lorry went through the central reservation at 5.13am today, Tuesday, January 29.

There were no serious injuries, but the road only re-opened at about 9.45am and there have been serious tailbacks with traffic diverted through Billingham, north of Stockton.

The worst affected area has been in the Wolviston area and there are still traffic hold-ups on the A689.

Only one lane was operational on the Northbound lane of the A19 which also caused serious problems. That has also re-opened.
