Man dies after crash on Harrogate/Knaresbrough bypass

A CAR passenger has died after two cars travelling in opposite directions collided on the Harrogate and Knaresborough bypass.

The A658 near Kirkby Overblow remains closed while police investigate the crash which shortly before 4pm.

The collision involved a foreign registered Ford Focus, which was heading towards the A1(M), and a Toyota 4x4, which was towing a trailer.

The male passenger in the foreign registered Ford died at the scene of the collision, while the driver of the Ford and the driver of the Toyota have both been taken to hospital.

Witnesses are urged to call police on 101.
