A MUSIC night has raised more than £3,000 for charity.
Friday Night is Music Night, held at Elvet Methodist Church, Durham City, last November, raised £3,470, which has now been split between the city’s St Cuthbert’s Hospice and The Northern Oesophageal and Gastric Cancer Fund.
The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Durham Bede and supported by the Durham branch of Lloyds TSB.
The concert featured the Durham County Wind Band and various soloists, including flautist Dr Michael Cave, a cardiologist at the University Hospital of North Durham.
Rotary club president David Hughes said: “To me, this is what Rotary is all about, raising money for good causes and having a great time doing it.”
