Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin takes to East Coast trains after snow cancellations

MOON MAN: Buzz Aldrin

First published in News

APOLLO 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin was one of many caught up in transport chaos as a result of snow in the capital and took to the East Coast Main Line to reach Edinburgh.

The second man to walk on the moon tweeted from his seat as he travelled through the North-East on the East Coast London to Edinburgh service after a number of flights to Scotland from Heathrow Airport were cancelled.

Mr Aldrin posted a picture of himself in his seat and added: “On the train from King’s Cross to Edinburgh after numerous airline mishaps – our First Class car is full so we’re slumming it in coach but all good.”

East Coast spokesman John Gelson said: “We’re pleased Buzz Aldrin, possibly one of the most famous pilots in history, switched from the plane to our train today. From his picture it’s clear he enjoyed his journey with us.

“As the snow continues to move across the country this evening, our people are working hard to prepare our trains and stations as well as we can. Additional engineering teams are based at key points on our route to keep trains moving, while Network Rail have snowploughs ready to keep tracks clear.

“Our advice to customers is, please check for the latest information before setting out, and allow extra time to reach stations as road conditions are expected to deteriorate.”

Welcome to the East Coast mainline Buzz, as you will have found, its quicker to get to the moon than it is to get to Edinburgh and much cheaper.

I hope you didn't need a dump only for a sliding door in a pisssy stinking toilet to open up on you because the locks are always faulty.

Grab yourself an East coast Sandwich and a can of Tennant's, no change out of a twenty and it'll remind you of something you probably ate on the moon.

Please call again Buzz
