CHANGE OF DATE: A business networking event due to take place at The Hub, Barnard Castle, on January 23, has been postponed and will now take place on Thursday, February 28, starting at 4pm. The event is being organised by Teesdale Action Partnership and South Durham Enterprise Agency.

CHAIRMAN'S MEDAL: Eight nominations have been put forward from Teesdale for Durham County Council's chairman's medal – the highest honour the authority can award. Three medals will be awarded in the dale and a meeting will be held next week to consider whose nominations should go forward.

TOWN COUNCIL: A meeting of Barnard Castle Town Council will take place on Monday, January 21, at Woodleigh, Scar Top, starting at 7pm. During the meeting, councillors will agree the council's budget for 2013-14. The meeting is open to the public.

STREET WARDENS: Members of Etherley Parish Council agreed to write to Durham County Council after concern was voiced that the street wardens had not been seen in the parish for at least three months. Local county councillor Stephen Hugill said wardens had been grouped together to tackle specific areas and he had asked them to come to Etherley.
