DARLINGTON people thinking of offering their services as foster carers can attend a recruitment event next week.
Foster Care Associates (FCA) North-East is holding an informal information event at Asda, in Whinbush Way, on Tuesday, January 29, from 10am to 4pm.
Jim Smith, FCA North-East’s registered manager, said: “Foster carers come from all walks of life and at FCA we value commitment, resilience and transferable skills.
“We’ll provide you with in-depth training and we’ll support you 24 hours a day, all we ask is that you are over 21, have a spare bedroom suitable for a young person and the determination to help make a positive and lasting difference for vulnerable young people.
“Fostering a young person that may not have had the most positive start in life is hugely rewarding. With time and patience you’ll see a young person blossom and really notice a difference in their confidence.”
