PEOPLE in Whitby are being given the chance to make their views known on a package of parking measures proposed by North Yorkshire County Council.
Alterations to parking restrictions in some parts of the town were initially suggested as part of the Whitby Park-and-Ride scheme.
They received such strong support from the public that it is now intended to implement the changes ahead of the wider scheme.
The measures are contained in 13 traffic orders designed to alleviate various parking issues, including redundant bus stops, alterations and extensions to double yellow lines, and alterations to the one-way system around the Royal Hotel.
The plans are now on public display at Whitby Library, where residents are invited to inspect them.
If no new objections are raised, it is expected that the new orders will take effect by this summer.
