STAFF at a solicitor's office has donated £500 to a Bishop Auckland hospice to celebrate becoming a nationally recognised firm.
Smith Roddam, in Bishop Auckland, today (Monday, January 14) joined a group of more than 400 solicitors to be awarded Quality Solicitors.
Instead of hosting an elaborate celebration, staff decided to give the money that would have been used to Butterwick Hospice.
The company previously took part in the charity’s Make a Will Scheme. They plan to support the event again this year, having donated £1,000 last time.
To receive the Quality Solicitors mark, firms are considered based on their history, expertise and public feedback.
Senior partner David Harris said the award would improve the service for clients and the opportunities available for the firm.
