A woman has died after she crashed while riding a quad bike, police said today (Saturday, January 12).
Police were called to the scene at 2.43pm yesterday after receiving a report of an incident on an unnamed road near West Todholes, Elsdon, Northumberland.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: ''Police and the ambulance service attended and a woman, the rider of the quad bike, was declared dead at the scene.
''A report will be prepared for the coroner.''
Investigators have appealed for anyone in the area at the time to call Northumbria Police's Road Safety Unit on 101.
