A WOMAN was cut free after two cars collided on the outskirts of Durham City this morning. (Friday, January 11)
The smash happened on the A691 just after 8am near Lanchester Road Hospital, causing problems for commuters getting into work.
The collision between a red VW Passat and a black Fiat Punto meatnt the road was closed for almost two hours.
The woman driver of the Punto, from Esh Winning, was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham, but the other driver was uninjured.
The road was re-opened at 9.50am.
