Police warning following spate of 'two in one' thefts in Middlesbrough
5:30pm Thursday 10th January 2013 in News By Joanna Morris
POLICE are warning people to keep their doors locked following a spate of thefts.
Car thieves operating in the Teesside area have been walking into unlocked properties and stealing car keys in a series of what police are calling ‘two in one’ thefts.
Three properties were targeted and three cars have been stolen within 24 hours in the Middlesbrough area.
Crime Reduction Officer PC Ged Kirkbright said: “These offences are committed by career criminals who look for opportunities. They all happened late in the evening when the victims were in their home.”
Householders are advised to get into a routine of locking and securing their property and keeping keys and other valuables out of sight.
