A POLICE force says it is looking for a dynamic duo to lead its special constables.

Durham Constabulary says it has vacancies for an operational superintendent and a Special Constabulary chief officer.

Chief superintendent Andy Reddick, head of the force’s neighbourhoods and partnerships branch, said: "We are seeking dynamic, innovative, self-motivated and experienced leaders to take command of our specials.

"The Special Constabulary comprises highly-trained, operational police officers, indistinguishable from their regular colleagues".

The superintendent will be responsible for the operational leadership of more than100 officers while the chief officer will take overall responsibility for shaping the future of the Durham Special Constabulary.

Details of how to apply are available on www.durham.police.uk and the deadline for applications is January 31.
