A HYDRAULIC engineering firm is hoping to take its business to the next level after taking on new staff and re-launching its brand and website.

Teesside-based IMH – Industrial & Marine Hydraulics – is a family-owned global business established in 1983 and specialising in the design, manufacture and export of hydraulic systems.

Despite the tough economic conditions, demand for the firm’s services and products is high, and the company, which took on five new staff in the past 12 months, is investing resources into a programme of project development and the recruitment of employees and apprentices.

The company’s updated website features new branding alongside project case studies, including features on work in Ireland, the USA and the Norwegian sector in the North Sea.

IMH Managing Director Paul Griffiths said: “Business is extremely buoyant, and because of this we have taken on five new staff in the last year, and we’re looking to recruit more.

“Over the last year we have undertaken the most interesting and challenging projects in the company’s history, including the refurbishment of a turbine control system in a nuclear power station, the design and build of a deep well capping stack winch system and an off-shore vessel mobilisation.

“Even in these tough economic times, business is positively growing and we are looking forward to a very promising future at IMH.”

IMH engineers travel around the world to commission, install and repair highly technical systems, including flood defence barriers, ballast remote control systems and power station turbine controls.

The company is looking to recruit a UK sales manager, sales engineer, project engineer and works foreman, building on 2012’s successful recruitment drive.
