A POWERCHAIR football club has been kitted out with new strips thanks to their local team and its sponsors.

The Middlesbrough- based team has been given Boro home and away kits emblazoned with Ramsdems name to mark them joining the national powerchair league.

The donation comes after Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation recently donated £4,000 to the club enabling them to purchase five powerchairs.

Now, through their support of the charity, the football club and its sponsors presented players with the new kit at the Riverside stadium.

Club secretary Cath McNicol said: “We have already worn home and away shirts in league action, which is a real thrill, as most of us are Boro fans.

“The Philanthropic Foundation has given us a huge boost and we very much appreciate the backing of Ramsdens and MFC.”

Boro manager Tony Mowbray recently tried his hand at powerchair football when he met club members at their training base at the Rainbow Leisure Centre in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough.
