Work to relieve flooding at playing fields in Bedale has been carried out by the town council.
Southfields play area was submerged after heavy rains when drains backed up and a major investigation had to be carried out to find out where drains were located.
Coun Malcolm Young and Clerk Richard Howard have been working with local contractors to sort out the flooding.
Coun Young said: ”The town council is purely responsible for the playing fields area but we have been carrying out extensive investigations to relieve the problems.
"The vast majority of the water has gone but once it goes it drains in from everywhere else. Other people need to be involved now such as the Environment Agency.
"It has been very complicated but now we need a long term solution. “
