STAFF and pupils at Barnard Castle's Teesdale School stepped back in time for a fashion show with a difference.

The evening's event covered more than a century's worth of costumes and outfits dating back to Edwardian times and coming right up to date with a Lady Gaga ensemble modelled by science teacher Stephen Horn.

Local stylists from the Zhoo salon ensured authentic hair styles accompanied the outfits and the event began with songs through the years performed by lower school students.

Organisers Nicole Read and Tina Masterman said: “It was lovely to see the staff and students come together to create a great show.”

The students also made props to reflect their particular era, including a model of the Titanic, a giant Rubic's cube and a Star Wars video.

The fashion show concluded with a rendition of Gangnam Style performed by the whole cast - plus audience participation.

Co-Principal John Southeran said: “Vertical tutoring is all about supporting and encouraging collaboration between students of different year groups and the fashion show has been a fantastic example of this.”
