Thank You For The Music is an evening of live music for fans of pop sensations Abba and the Bee Gees at the Empire Theatre in Consett on Friday February 22 at 7.30pm.

The show features hits such as Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper as well as Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever and Islands in the Stream.

Tickets cost £17.50, or concessions £16.50 and can be booked by calling 01207-218171.

CARPET BOWLS: Over 40's carpet bowls sessions are held at the Grove Club, Moorside, near Consett, every Wednesday from 1.30pm-3.30pm.

Taking part costs £1 per session and beginners are welcome. Ring 01207-280119 for more information.

DRIVERS NEEDED: RSVP North-East is looking for volunteer drivers for the Derwentside GP Car Scheme to cover Stanley, Consett and Annfield Plain surgeries. It involves taking patients who are unable to travel by any other means from their home to attend GP appointments. Expenses are reimbursed at an agreed rate.

WOMEN’S GROUP: The Thursday Club is a group for ladies of all ages to meet for an evening of entertainment or a day out.

Members have talks, slide shows, days out to places of interest and celebratory meals as well as raising money for charity.

The club meets on the third Thursday of the month at 7.45 pm in the small hall of Lanchester Community Centre.
