BOY George is set to perform at a venue best known for its afternoon tea dances as part of a scheme to change perceptions of Scarborough.
The singer turned DJ will headline Club Coastival, an evening of music and lightshows at the resort’s Spa complex, and will appear alongside his VG Records partner and fellow DJ Marc Vedo and Holotronica, a combined music and 3D hologram experience on February 16.
Earlier that day, the Spa complex will host a demonstration of video mapping when Lumens project images and animations on to the side walls of the Victorian building.
The Coastival – Take A Different View Of Scarborough festival will see 44 events and attractions across the town, such as gallery concerts, classical music, theatre, arts installations and exhibitions, some of which will continue for the remainder of February.
