KEEN snappers have until the end of the month to enter the North East Wildlife Trusts’ photography competition.

The Durham, Tees Valley and Northumberland Wildlife Trusts joined forced with the Natural History Society of Northumbria and the Great North Museum: Hancock to run the competition which will result in an exhibition showcasing the best entries.

There are five competition categories; wildlife portraits, wildlife behaviour, wildlife in the landscape, botanical and young person - for photos of flora and fauna taken by anyone aged 16 or under.

The winning and runner-up images will be displayed at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle in March before going on tour around the region, while the overall winner will walk away with £250 and camera equipment worth £450.
