VISITORS to a railway museum will be able to step onto the footplate of an engine which once stood in a Butlin’s holiday camp.
Locomotion: The National Railway Museum at Shildon is to host its annual Cab It! event.
The scheme allows visitors to access the footplates of several locomotives, including the Duchess of Hamilton, which one stood in a Butlin’s camp in Somerset.
Museum staff will also be on hand to answer questions about the engines during the event.
Cab It! runs on January 19 and 20 between 10am and 4pm with free entry.
