POLICE are trying to trace a County Durham woman last seen on January 3.

Sheralee Dodsworth was last seen at her home on Lillie Terrace in Trimdon Grange, near Sedgefield, by her husband before he left for work.

When he returned home he found his wife had left the house and taken their car, a Silver Vauxhall Astra with the registration number GU06 LBX.

Mrs Dodsworth, 42, has not made any contact with family members or friends since being reported missing and police are keen to find her to ensure she is fit and well.

Inspector Kevan McCarthy said; "We are concerned for Sheralee's welfare since it is out of character for her to have gone missing in this way.

"Our initial enquiries suggest she may still be in the north east,  perhaps staying with a friend or family member who may be unaware she has been reported missing."

She is described as being around six feet tall with short black hair and the name ‘Kyle’ tattooed on her right forearm.

Anyone who has heard from Mrs Dodworth or seen her or the Vauxhall Astra is asked to contact Durham Police on 101, quoting the incident reference number DHM-04012013-0446.
