MEMBERS of Darlington Orchestra are tuning up for their annual winter concert.

The community orchestra will perform at the Dolphin Centre, Darlington, on Saturday, January 26, at 7.30pm.

A stage has been built in the centre’s grand central hall for the forty-five strong orchestra.

Conductor David Plews said: “The concert programme will be characterised by our usual diversity with the regal early music of William Boyce, the dark passion of Brahms and a catchy pops orchestra score from Paul Simon.

"We’ll play Strauss’s delightful Perpetuum Mobile and, after the success of Espana in our last concert, a Chabrier March.

“We’re excited to be working again with our young friends at the fine Locomotion Children’s Choir, who will be appearing with their musical director Nikki Lycett.”

Tickets cost between £4 and £6 and are available on 01325-388406 or from the reception in the Dolphin Centre, Darlington.

Anyone who wants to join the orchestra can call 01325-718414.
