SPENNYMOOR Town Hall Art Gallery is gearing up for a busy year, with a full exhibition programme showcasing the work of talented local artists.
Six exhibitions are scheduled between January and August, starting on Saturday, January 19, with an exhibition of photographs by Neil Bage, which runs to February 16.
From March 2 to 23, the gallery will feature the work of three artists – Ray Bradshaw, Graham Hodgson and Gary Smith.
This will be followed by a solo exhibition by John Hebborn, running from April 6 to 27, and, from May 4 to 25, members of Trimdon Art Group will showcase their Painting for Pleasure collection.
In June, the gallery will host a special exhibition of newly acquired works by the late Robert Heslop – one of the original Spennymoor Settlement artists.
The exhibition, which runs from the 8 to the 13, will also include work by the late Tom Alderson and current members of the Settlement Art Group.
A summer exhibition of prints by John Banham, Geff Fogg and John Todd, inspired by the Bishop Auckland Town Hall printmaking workshops, will round off the new programme from July 27 to August 24.
