Broken leg and fractured cheekbone in pub attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 51-year-old man was severely assaulted.
The incident happened at 11.40pm on Saturday in the Jester public house, in Tasmania Road, in South Shields.
He suffered a broken leg and fractured cheekbone and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers are carrying out enquiries in order to establish what happened and are keen for anyone who was in the pub, or has any information to contact them.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is helping police with their enquiries.
