YOUNG people are being invited to join a new weekly drama workshop.

The Drama Factory is aimed at nine- to 13-year-olds with an interest in drama and theatre.

Everyone is invited to attend the free sessions at (CORR) myplace, Middlesbrough’s new youth facility, whether it’s for fun or to gain experience as an actor or working behind the scenes.

The team from (CORR) hArt Factory will offer support throughout, helping all those taking part to achieve their full potential, and learn skills including team working.

The youngsters will be working with a local professional drama tutor and students will be able pick up a variety of theatrical skills in a series of creative workshops.

Sessions are held in a fully working professional theatre, offering opportunities to learn about set development, lighting design and stage management.

Students will work on professional scripts as well as developing their own work, while meeting new people and making friends along the way.

The Drama Factory opens at myplace in the Custom House, North Street, Middlesbrough, TS2 1JP on Wednesday, January 9 from 6pm to 8pm.

Sessions are free, however, to book a place call hArt Factory on 01642-740268 or myplace on 01642-256310.

Anyone visiting myplace can register at reception, or simply turn up on the day.
